My original choices were between the nano cube delux produced by JBJ and the bio cube. The first problem is that the current largest models in the UK are 24g, although the main ones in stock seem to be the 12g, which for my ability level is too small. The JBJ model looks really nice but the current one available does not contain a protein skimmer. This means that creating a stable environment is just going to be too difficult. The choice I was left with was to wait until their new model is released in September which contains the skimmer and is a much better design. Not wanting to wait that long to get going I decided to have a scout around.

Quick intro. I am Tangtastic, a friend of the Admin to Funkyaquatics.com. I have been in fishkeeping for donkeys years, started with goldfish, then tropicals, old balls and ponds. There is one main section missing. I currently do not have a tank setup and I have decided to bite the bullet. Over the next few weeks, months or years I have decided to write a blog on my progress into the amazing world which is reef keeping. To make matters worse, not only am I going to delve into reef keeping I am going to attempt to set up a nano-reef.

Welcome to the fishkeeping hobby, where you are in control of the fishes world.
You decide the seasons, length of daylight, population size, climate
and food supply. At first, this
may all seem a bit complicated and difficult, especially as errors may
result in the deaths of living creatures. However, it is a lot easier than it seems, if you just follow the
advice provided on this web site. You
could be running an amazing tropical fish tank in a very short time, and it
only takes a few minutes of each day to keep the basic fish healthy.
